Organizational Profile

University of Texas at Austin RGK Center for Philanthropy and Community Service

Our mission at the Center is to build knowledge about nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and volunteerism, and to prepare students and practitioners to make effective contributions to their communities. The RGK Center was founded in January 2000 with an initial $5 million grant from the RGK Foundation. The ‘RGK’ in our name refers to Mrs. Ronya and Dr. George Kozmetsky, founders of the RGK Foundation.

Exciting things are happening all across the nonprofit sector today all around the world. Critical contributions to public problem solving are increasingly being made by nonprofit organizations in almost every field imaginable. We are constantly looking for ways to contribute to the growth and development of the nonprofit sector.
